To learn about retailing outside of the classroom and to encourage students to build contacts among their peers in retailing at Texas A&M University, the Center for Retailing Studies sponsors the Student Retailing Association (SRA). With between 60-80 members each semester, from all different majors, including communication, marketing, bio-medical science, sociology, accounting and finance, SRA is one of the largest student organizations at Mays Business School.

Any major from any class can join!

Throughout the year, SRA hosts more than a dozen industry representatives at bi-weekly meetings who discuss topics such as how to network, developing leadership potential, entrepreneurship, and transitioning from college to corporate retail. Previous speakers have included...

  • Dillard’s

  • ALDI

  • Stage Stores

  • Chick-Fil-A

  • Walmart

  • Wayfair

  • The Container Store

  • Nordstrom

  • Neiman Marcus

  • H-E-B

  • Macy’s

  • Sewell Automotive

  • Local boutiques in the Bryan/College Station area

  • ...and many more!

Aside from bi-weekly meetings, SRA also sends its members on store tours of local businesses, tech tours in Texas, hosts career development workshop events, and connects you with your future employers. SRA is an incredible organization to begin networking with professionals and peers in your field that can assist in connecting you with internships and full-time opportunities.
